Pert Em Heru
The Book of Coming Forth By Day

The Book of Coming Forth By Day

Vol 1 Text

is unquestionably one of the most influential books in all history. Embodying a ritual to be practiced before going to bed, with detailed instructions of how one wants to live in the After Life, it served as the most important repository of spiritual authority for some three thousand years. Chapters were carved on the pyramids of the ancient 5th Dynasty, texts were written in papyrus, and selections were painted on coffin cases well into the Christian Era. In a certain sense, it stood behind all Egyptian civilization.

The Women Of Amarna

The Royal Women Of Amarna

Surveying the depiction of the female form during Kemet’s Amarna period (circa 1353-1336 BC),  During the reign of Amenhotep IV, also known as Akhenaten, Egyptian art saw a brief flowering of expressive, intimate images. This period is especially interesting because many well-preserved pieces exist, including portraits of Queen Nefertiti and her six daughters. The book traces the evolution of the elegant image of Nefertiti during the reign of Akhenaten, as well as the representations of her children. Other depictions of royal women from the court at Armana include a delicately carved bust of a princess that shows a close affinity to works of art from the tomb of Tutankhamun. Many of the pieces came from the workshop of Tuthmose, sculptor to the king and one of the few artists of Ancient Kemet whose name is known.

Ancient Egypt Light of the World Vol. 1

Ancient Egypt Light of the World Vol. 1
Originally Printed in 1907  [In Two Volumes].  Massey was one of the first Egyptologists in modern times to suggest that with the final eclipse of the old Land of Kemet [a.k.a. ancient Egypt], a brilliant light had been extinguished in world civilization. There was a small compensation in the often meteoric rise of other cultures subsequently, but the light of these later cultures was, Massey suggests, a paler reflection of the Nile Valley sun that had set.

Ancient Egypt Light of the World Vol.2

Ancient Egypt Light of the World Vol. 2
In this, the most philosophical of his works on ancient Egypt, Massey leads a tour through thousands of years of sociological, cultural, and spiritual development, all the while pointing, with dazzling reason and persuasive prose, to a distant, common, Egyptian origin.
